Experience strategy for AIMS’ flagship campus in Kigali Innovation City.
400+ graduates since 2016, 38% of them women
As Creative Director at Innovation Village Design, Deborah led the experience strategy for AIMS’ proposed flagship campus that launched in 2016 in Kigali Innovation City. She wrote the narrative and created “Mindful Invention,” translating AIMS’ mission into an Ubuntu-centered environment for scientific talent and global collaboration.
Her direction aligned architecture, interiors, navigation, digital tools and programming across four core areas: Community Park, Learning Labs, Co-Workshops and Habitat. The result was a blueprint for a living knowledge ecosystem where students, researchers, educators and industry partners could learn, prototype and solve real-world challenges.
Since opening in 2016, AIMS Rwanda has graduated 400+ students, 38% of them women, and it now offers three master’s pathways linked to research and industry.
