Tourism-led initiatives

Moving the national tourism brand from promotion into licensed use across businesses, products and visitor experiences.

A licensing journey from application to certification

Deborah contributed to creating the Visit Rwanda Mark system: a framework that moved the national tourism brand from promotion into licensed use across businesses, products and visitor experiences. She designed the end-to-end journey, from Irembo application, assessment and approval to payment, certification, tracking and timed access to official assets.

The work also defined local and global partner packages, merchandising and marketing tools, internal vetting criteria and a model directing fees toward conservation and sustainability. It gave qualified businesses a clear, responsible way to carry the brand while promoting locally made products and services.

For other engagements, Deborah secured sponsorship for FERWABA (REG) from Visit Rwanda for participation in NBA BAL 2025, designed café experiences for national parks, and designed Bourbon Coffee retail experiences at Kwita Izina for multiple years. For over a decade, she has helped Visit Rwanda move from a promotional identity into an experience people could encounter through businesses, products and visitor experiences.
